Maximizing Your Potential Health

“Definiteness of purpose is the starting point of all achievement.” ―W. Clement Stone

Purpose should define our thoughts and actions in life. If we are eating, we should have an end goal in mind of why we are consuming that specific food. Eating simply for taste is no longer an acceptable reason to consume an edible food like substance. Dr. Joel Furhman, MD, author of SuperImmunity, suggests that the consumption of foods that have no nutrient density and high calories weakens the immune system and shortens the human life span.

There are only two outcomes of consuming food; health-promotion or immune-weakening. When we eat foods such as animal protein, processed meats, and dairy our immune system is weakened by introducing disease causing agents . When we consume foods such leafy greens, beans, onions, and mushrooms they provide health promoting nutrients to support our immune system. The purpose of eating should be boost your immunity.

All or nothing. How many cheat meals and cheat days can you have? 100% effort is easier to give than 99% effort. There will always be a reason to have a piece of cake or a warm fudge brownie such as a birthday or wedding celebration. However, other than those special occasions the goal should be to eat foods that promote health. This would include foods that are as close to the source as possible; plant based, and not highly processed, fried or cooked with oil.
