Where are you at with your new year resolutions? If you are like many people, then one of your goals may be to improve your overall health, or increase your level of fitness. Here are some health tips that can help you reach your goals sooner rather than later.
- Drink More Water
Put down the sodas and concentrated juices that are filled with tons of sugar and absolutely no nutrients. Many people don’t have an issue with over eating, the issues is drinking! Yes, drinking sodas and juices high in fructose corn syrup and calories can really pack on the pounds. As an alternative try drinking more water and hot tea. Instead of adding sugar and honey to your tea, add more tea backs for a stronger taste.
2. Eat More Greens
Often times when people tell me they want to lose weight and get healthier, they think that trying a plant based lifestyle will leave them hungry. On the contrary, vegetables have significantly higher amounts of fiber than processed foods and animals foods. This means that as you eat, you actually get the feeling of satisfaction instead of constantly craving more.
3. Get Up, Get Active!
I typically wake up around 4:30 each morning and the first thing I do after getting dressed is 15-20 minutes of a moderate cardio exercise. Not only does this boost the metabolism for the day but it also gives me energy and gets my creative juices flowing as well. Not only is cardio good for getting your day started, it also helps to sculpt away some extra calories and fat that may be hanging around your body.
